Episode 48 – Benjamin Franklin: Diplomat, Inventor, Founder

Welcome to Our Republic.

Benjamin Franklin. Printer, scientist, inventor, diplomat, and — let’s be honest — America’s original “most interesting man in the world.” He wasn’t a president, but he’s on the hundred-dollar bill. He didn’t come from wealth, but he ended up partying with kings in France. He wrote maxims about frugality while ordering enough wine to fill a cellar.

Franklin was the Founding Father who did everything. He gave us wisdom in pamphlets, sparks from a lightning rod, and an alliance with France when we needed it most. If Washington was America’s backbone, and Jefferson its pen, then Franklin was its wit — sharp enough to charm Europe, clever enough to keep a revolution alive.
