Alarm is growing in Russia’s so-called “Z-community” over dictator Vladimir Putin’s refusal to end the war in Ukraine — a war that has dragged on too long and is no longer seen as victorious.

Russian propagandist Alexander Khramov compared today’s situation to the Livonian War of the 16th century, warning that Moscow might lose everything — including Crimea and Donbas.

“The Livonian War shows us that long and costly wars can end not in victory, but in total loss,” he wrote.

Even pro-Kremlin economists are now warning that Russia faces a major recession in 2026, according to the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-Term Forecasting (CMASF).

They report that rising interest rates and war expenses have pushed the economy to the brink of crisis.

Until the end of 2025, any temporary growth will be driven only by domestic demand and expectations of a VAT increase
