In a $4.1million dollar push to propagandize America's Christians, they are now TRACKING all church service attendees by their own phone GPS ping and Geo-fencing each church, actively tracking them, and effectively targeting them indefinitely with online political messaging.

Recent examples of religious geofencing:

Foreign influence campaign (October 2025):

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through an American PR firm, launched a $3.26 million geofencing campaign targeting Christian churches in California, Colorado, Arizona, and Nevada.

Churchgoers are tracked via their mobile phones during services and sent pro-Israel, anti-Palestinian political ads.

The campaign also includes profiling attendees for future targeted ads and a VR experience.

Targeting Catholic voters (2020):

Political advocacy group CatholicVote used geofencing technology on parishes in several states.

The practice identified people whose smartphones entered church properties,
with that data then being used to target them with political ads for or against specific candidates.
How religious geofencing works

Virtual boundaries:

Geofencing creates a virtual perimeter around a real-world location, such as a church. This is done using GPS, Wi-Fi, or cellular data.

Data collection: When a person with location services enabled on their phone enters or leaves the geofenced area, their device's unique ID is logged.

Targeted messaging: This data allows campaigns to send targeted digital ads to these devices across various platforms, including apps, web browsers, and social media.
Profiling:

By identifying attendees, campaigns can build profiles for ongoing, highly specific ad campaigns based on their religious affiliation and attendance patterns.

Ethical concerns:

The surreptitious nature of geofencing can be perceived as manipulative and exploitative, as it uses sensitive personal information for political gain without explicit consent.

Use of inflammatory language such as “crank,” “quack,” “nutty,” “liar,” “paranoid,” “pseudo,” “denier,” “myth,” “debunked,” “discredited” and “conspiracy.” This language tests as effective in influencing people to form the desired opinion.

Claiming damaging information to be a “myth” that has been “debunked”
