The Progressive Delusion: A Society That Celebrates Confusion

In the streets of any American city, ideological confusion has become a banner. What was once a biological fact is now treated as a mere “feeling” or “self-perception.” This was perfectly illustrated in a recent street interview with a person who identifies as “non-binary,” proudly stating that “anyone could be non-binary if they felt that way.” This statement, applauded by certain sectors of the left, reflects the collapse of basic logic: biology and objective reality have been replaced by emotion and self-identification.

The interviewee went on to explain that “you can’t know if you’re non-binary until you explore your gender, your sexuality, and what feels right.” This idea, as absurd as it is dangerous, denies the stability of human identity and replaces it with a limitless social experiment. Instead of promoting emotional maturity or responsible self-awareness, it encourages a culture of confusion where any fleeting impulse becomes a gender label. There is no room for analysis, reflection, or dissent: anyone who questions this narrative is automatically labeled intolerant or “transphobic.”

What’s most concerning is that this ideology, which began as a movement for “inclusion,” is now being imposed in schools, the media, and social networks with an almost totalitarian force. Children are being taught to “explore” their sexual identity before even understanding their own bodies. Parents who object are silenced, teachers who question it are fired, and doctors who defend biology are censored. The left has turned identity into an ideological battlefield where science is subordinated to emotion.

During the interview, the person claimed to be autistic and explained that their “non-binary” identity stemmed from never fitting in with anyone. In other words, a complex medical and social condition is being used as justification for an identity imposed by a progressive environment. What once would have been a reason to receive understanding and psychological support is now celebrated as a “blessing.” But since when should an emotional or neurological difficulty become a political banner? Modern progressivism doesn’t aim to help people heal or understand themselves—it aims to use them as trophies for a cause that denies biological reality.

The problem is not empathy or respect—everyone deserves dignity. The real problem lies in how a mental and social health issue is being manipulated to serve a political agenda. The radical left has managed to make confusion appear as a virtue and common sense as an act of hate. Thus, while the media celebrates those who “explore their gender,” millions of ordinary citizens watch in disbelief as scientific truth is pushed aside in the name of political correctness.

America must reclaim common sense. We cannot allow emotions to replace truth, nor can we let science be censored out of fear of offending. Freedom of thought must include the right to question, to disagree, and to defend the obvious: that biological sex is not an opinion. It’s time to end ideological manipulation disguised as empathy and remember that society cannot be built on fleeting perceptions—but on truth.
