Is it wrong to look out for yourself and get the best deal, or as economists call it, maximize profits? Why do we sometimes get "cheated" in deals? What is the role of "sin" in being cheated?

In this podcast, we look at the role of self-interest. In any deal or transaction, you have two parties seeking to maximize their return. A good deal is one where both parties end up better off after the deal is made. A bad deal is one where deception causes one party to make a mistake as to either their cost or benefit, or both.

Satan has no interest in making good deals. He is only interested in making deals that benefit him at your expense. He is the great deceiver who can deceive us into making a "mistake" about the deal. This is evil when he focuses us on a benefit that is a harm in reality through our loving money more than God or others, including ourselves.
