100,000 Pounds of Cocaine Interdicted in Pacific as Coast Guard Cracks Down

The U.S. Coast Guard says it has seized more than 100,000 pounds of cocaine in the Eastern Pacific since August under Operation Pacific Viper, averaging over 1,600 pounds intercepted daily.
Officials call the haul — alongside 86 narco-trafficking arrests — one of the service’s most aggressive counter-drug campaigns in recent years.
