On October 6, 2025, around noon, a high-speed police chase unfolded on westbound I-96 in Livingston County, Michigan, involving the Bath Township Police Department (Ingham County) and assisted by the Livingston County Sheriff's Office (LCSO). The suspect, a man wanted for domestic violence and alleged to be armed with a gun, fled from initial officers in a small silver car. The pursuit entered Livingston County, where LCSO deputies joined to assist.

During the chase, the driver exhibited extremely reckless behavior, including weaving between vehicles, passing on the shoulder, and at one point driving the wrong way into oncoming traffic on I-96 while crossing grassy medians in an attempt to evade capture.

The chase concluded safely off a freeway exit ramp near Fowlerville, where the suspect was apprehended without injury to officers or the public. He was turned over to Bath Township police.
