Suspected Drunk Driver Rear-Ends Patrol Car in Aurora

Aurora, CO – October 19, 2025 – The Aurora Police Department (APD) reports a serious incident involving a suspected drunk driver colliding with a patrol vehicle at approximately 12:32 a.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the intersection of East Mississippi Avenue and South Chambers Road.While officers were turning onto East Mississippi Avenue from South Chambers Road, their marked patrol vehicle was rear-ended by a motorist suspected of driving under the influence (DUI). The collision resulted in injuries to at least two APD officers, who were promptly transported for medical evaluation and treatment. The suspect’s vehicle was found to contain multiple empty alcohol containers, including Truly Hard Seltzer cans, and the driver was taken into custody pending further investigation.
