John Bradshaw, M.A. (June 29, 1933 – May 8, 2016) was an American educator, counselor, author, and public speaker best known for pioneering the concept of the “Inner Child” and exposing the impact of toxic shame on personal development. His groundbreaking PBS series “Homecoming” and best-selling books like “Healing the Shame That Binds You” and “Homecoming: Reclaiming and Championing Your Inner Child” brought family systems theory and emotional healing into mainstream consciousness. With a Master’s degree in Sacred Theology, Bradshaw fused psychology, spirituality, and personal recovery, becoming a transformative voice in self-help and emotional health movements of the 1980s and 1990s.
