On today's episode of Understanding Scripture, we go Diggin' Deeper into Adam's famous words to Eve, Bone of My Bone, Flesh of My Flesh. Adam is acknowledging that Eve was created from his own body (his rib), meaning she is a part of him — made from the same substance. There is both a literal and symbolic meaning. It expresses a deep connection, unity, or bond between two people — often used to describe a soulmate, spouse, or someone so close that they are like part of you and can also imply shared essence, loyalty, kinship, or oneness.
