Tensions rise as Syrian forces and Kurdish fighters clash amid fragile ceasefire

US-backed Kurdish fighters and the Syrian army have traded accusations of ceasefire violations.
A peace agreement signed in March has reduced violence, but sporadic exchanges of fire and casualties continue to be reported.
About a quarter of Syrian territory is controlled by Syrian Democratic Force (SDF).
The fighters are backed by the US and continue to receive weapons and support from Western countries.
They have refused to be united under the Syrian army and maintain their control on most of Syria's oil and gas resources.

Al Jazeera has been given rare access to the frontline positions in Manbij from where Osama Bin Javaid reports.
