Living Without a Care in the World

Our lives can be quite chaotic at times. In the midst of the chaos, we can get bombarded with stress, worries, anxiety, frustration and a whole range of despair. What does God's Word teach us to do when we are in such a state?

We read in 1 Peter 5:7, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

God desires that we give all our worries, cares, and troubles to Him. He wants us to lay it all at His feet. Jesus tells us in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

He is our Great Shepherd in whom we lack nothing as David wrote in Psalms 23 where he continues in verse 2-3, "He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul."

Jesus is our source of refreshment and peace as He assures us in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

God wants His children to possess peacefulness knowing that He is with us in every situation. He assures us of this in Isaiah 41:10, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

God promises that He will work all things to our best interest as Apostle Paul teaches us in
Romans 8:28, "we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Remember, we know the ending of the story. We are victorious! Christ already gave us the guaranteed victory. Every tear will be wiped away. Pain will be evaporated. Every disease will be healed. Every hardship will be ended. There will be no more stress, worry or despair. As we read in Revelation 21:4, "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

When we are in the midst of chaos and troubles, God's Word reminds us to keep the perspective of that eternal promise as Apostle Paul teaches in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, "our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

Once we refocus our perspective upward towards God and His eternal promises, it diminishes the power of our earthly, temporary problems, pain and chaos. All we are left with is God's peace, rest, joy, and hope. So let us place all our cares in heaven, that is when we can truly live without a care in the world.
