What Does Romans 1 REALLY Teach About the Gospel?

Episode 15 — “What Does Romans 1 REALLY Teach About the Gospel?”
The gospel of covenant-faithfulness: Discover how The Epistle to the Romans begins not with a self-made religion but with the heartbeat of the God of Israel fulfilling His ancient promises. In Romans 1:1-17 we see:
• Paul identifying himself as a bond-slave (δοῦλος) of Messiah Yeshua, under the authority of the covenant-keeping God.
• The Gospel defined as “His Son … descended from David… declared Son of God by resurrection” (v 2-4) — merging Israel’s royal line with divine vindication.
• The purpose of this Gospel: “the obedience of faith” (v 5) — faithful allegiance, not mere belief.
• God’s plan “to the Jew first and also to the Greek” (v 16) — the covenant-story expanding to the nations.
• “The righteousness of God is revealed” (v 17) — God’s covenant-loyalty in Messiah, not a checklist of morality.

Join me, Shawn M. Greener, a Follower of The Way, as we unpack Romans 1 in its Hebraic and Ancient Near Eastern context, drawing on insights from Dr Michael Heiser, Dr Skip Moen, the Complete Jewish Study Bible and ANE languages/culture.

👉 Ask yourself during the teaching: Have I reduced the Gospel to comfort instead of covenant-kingdom? Will I live as a consumer of religion — or as a covenant-servant of the King?
