Pope Leo XIV’s Call for Unity and Compassion

In his Apostolic Exhortation Dilexi te (“I Have Loved You”), issued on October 4, 2025, Pope Leo XIV delivers a powerful message on solidarity, human dignity, and the role of popular movements in shaping a just society. He urges the world to listen to “those who refuse to leave the poor and vulnerable behind,” reminding us that democracy dies when leaders stop hearing the people. “If politicians and professionals do not listen to them, democracy atrophies, turns into a slogan, a mere formality.” As ALLATRA volunteers, we fully support Pope Leo XIV’s call for unity and justice. His message complements Pope Francis’s @franciscus encyclical Laudato si’, which links care for humanity with care for the planet. Together, these teachings emphasize that ecological and social crises are two sides of the same coin—and only through shared responsibility can we overcome them. Our recent ALLATRA–Jesuit alliance, inspired by Laudato si’, puts this vision into action through cooperation with the San Calixto Observatory in Bolivia.
