Boeing 747-400 cargo plane veered off the runway after landing and partially ended up in the waters of the bay adjacent to the airport. As a result of the incident, two airport ground service employees died.

The aircraft belonged to the Turkish airline ACT Airlines (AirACT) and was chartered by Emirates for cargo transportation. According to preliminary data, after touching down, the airliner sharply veered left, left the runway, and collided with a security patrol vehicle, pushing it into the sea. Two people in the vehicle died. All four crew members of the aircraft were unharmed and rescued.

It is still unclear what caused the accident. The pilots did not report any technical malfunctions before landing, and the weather conditions and runway status at the time of landing are described as safe.
