Remember! Antifa Protesters Can become Violent!
At a protest, the best way to distinguish yourself from a group like Antifa is to focus on peaceful behavior and avoid the "black bloc" attire and anonymity tactics often associated with militant protesters

Appearance:
Avoid all-black attire. The "black bloc" tactic of dressing entirely in black is used by some protest groups to conceal identities and create an intimidating presence. To avoid association with this, wear a variety of colors, or at least avoid a head-to-toe black outfit.

Do not conceal your identity. Antifa-aligned activists frequently cover their faces with masks, balaclavas, or sunglasses to prevent identification by police or opposing groups. To make your peaceful intentions clear, keep your face visible. While a mask might be necessary for health reasons, use discretion.

Show your affiliation clearly. Unlike anonymous protest tactics, peaceful groups often use identifiable markers to show unity and purpose. Consider wearing a branded t-shirt or pin for the organization you are with to differentiate yourself.

Behavior and Tactics:
Stay non-violent. Antifa tactics are sometimes described as crossing into violent conduct, such as property destruction or physical altercations. To show you are acting peacefully, avoid engaging in or condoning any destructive behavior.

Avoid confrontation. Peaceful protesters generally aim to make a statement, not to provoke conflict. If you encounter agitators or counter-protesters, do not engage with them. Walk away and de-escalate the situation if possible.

Focus on the message. Antifa and other activist groups may rely on disruption as a core tactic. A clearer, more peaceful approach is to focus on your specific message. Carry a sign, join a chant, and listen to the organizers.

Cooperate with organizers and authorities. Responsible protest groups often appoint liaisons to communicate with police. By contrast, militant groups are independent of law enforcement and legal structures. Follow the lead of your protest's organizers or marshals and obey lawful orders from police.

Before you go:
Plan your protest strategy. Going with a trusted group or "buddy system" provides credibility and safety in numbers.

Understand the specific cause. Clearly define the purpose of your protest beforehand. Many protest movements have specific goals, and Antifa is not a single organized group but a loose ideology. Know why you are there and focus on that message.

Wear Protection:
Always be safe and wear lawful protection in case of defense against any physical or violent attacks from Antifa and other Far Left encounters.
