Palestinian mother vows to remain in destroyed Gaza home, appealing for aid and peace

A 49-year-old Palestinian mother, Hayam Meqdad, has returned to her destroyed home in Gaza City, determined to rebuild her life amid the ruins.
She and her husband now live in a tent among the rubble, while their children remain displaced in the south.
Despite the devastation, Meqdad insists on staying, saying she will “live over” her destroyed home.
She recalls her children’s childhood and mourns her martyred son, describing constant hardship with no water, food, or shelter.
Her plea to the world is simple — for peace, dignity, and mercy amid Gaza’s continuing devastation.
