My Soul is Full of Troubles

In Psalm 88 we are going to learn from the sufferings of a saint. This psalm is a sorrowful psalm, with the author conveying that he is in mental distress as he plaintively cries out to God for help. It is a psalm that the saints of God can learn from and grow, realizing that difficult situations are there to bring you closer to God. It is how you respond to the afflictions that is important. God has not promised you only sunny days and only carefree days. There will be tumultuous days. There will be days of sadness and distress. There will be days where you will want to clamber into a closet and hide. But is that what God calls you to do? No. Consider this: The days of affliction are there to strengthen your faith and reliance on God.
