Trump: “Would I Rather Have a Democrat Than a Communist? Barely.”

D.C. (Dist. of Criminals), October 19, 2025 — In an exclusive interview with Maria Bartiromo, President Donald Trump addressed the ongoing government shutdown, accusing Democrats of deliberately sabotaging progress and calling them “kamikaze pilots” with no plan for the future.

“The Democrats are kamikazes right now,” Trump said. “They have nothing going. They have no future. They have incompetent candidates.”

The president’s remarks came as he confirmed that federal workers and military personnel will still receive pay this week despite the shutdown — a move he said was designed to “protect hardworking Americans” while Congress stalls.

Trump took direct aim at several Democrat figures, including Rep. Jasmine Crockett and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, questioning their leadership and competence. “Crockett is a very low IQ person,” Trump said. “AOC — I watched her the other day. You’ve got to be kidding.”

When asked about New York City’s upcoming mayoral race, Trump criticized the city’s current leadership, labeling the mayor a “communist.”

Pressed by Bartiromo on whether he’d endorse Curtis Sliwa, Trump said he hasn’t made a final decision. “Is he really a Republican? Am I a big fan? I don’t know,” he said, joking that Sliwa “wants to make Gracie Mansion a home for the cats.”

Trump then praised former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, calling him “the greatest mayor in the history of New York.”

The president hinted he may announce his endorsement soon but made clear he’s focused on restoring fiscal responsibility and fighting “radical left incompetence” in Washington.
