The "subsidy cliff". The ACA has failed

Back in 2021, the Democrats knew that January 2026 was coming, and it was going to expose the heavily subsidized Obamacare.

The "subsidy cliff" refers to the expiration of enhanced premium tax credits (PTCs) under the Affordable Care Act (#ACA), originally introduced in the 2021 American Rescue Plan and extended through December 31, 2025, by the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA), commonly known as Obamacare includes numerous temporary provisions designed as bridges to permanent reforms (such as the health insurance marketplaces and expanded Medicaid eligibility starting in 2014). These were intentionally structured this way by Democrats during the 2010 legislative process to manage costs, phase in changes, and provide transitional support.

Republicans in the House passed a continuing resolution that extends funding for many health programs but explicitly omits the ACA premium tax credits. They have expressed a preference to negotiate the subsidy extension separately from the continuing resolution.

The Democrats have rejected this. - Politico, Washington Post , CMAdocs

The Democrats are trying to upset Trump's economic acceleration.

Right now, oil production has reached 16 million barrels per day, and this triggers OPEC to adjust their prices. In my area the gallon of gas is down to $2.80 (fluctuating).

If you find that gas stations are still at $3.50 then find a new station.

Obamacare has failed and both parties are trying to kick the can down the road.
