True Crime - but race swapped?

"A Time To Kill" (1996) was a successful movie staring Samuel L. Jackson, Matthew McConaughey, Sandra Bullock, Kevin Spacey (among others), based on the novel by John Grisham which was in turn based on a true story, with some changes made by the author.
