‘Antifa-aligned’ men face terrorism charges in July ICE attack, FBI director says

The Department of Justice has charged Cameron Arnold and Zachary Evetts with providing material support to terrorists for their alleged roles in an attack on Texas’s Prairieland Detention Center on July 4 that left an officer shot.

The two were previously arrested in July alongside eight others on attempted murder and weapons charges.

Authorities claim they were part of an “Antifa Cell” responsible for planning and executing the attack, marking the first time Antifa-aligned individuals have faced federal terrorism charges, according to FBI Director Kash Patel.

Both defendants’ attorneys deny their clients were involved in a coordinated attack, with Evetts’ lawyer asserting he neither carried a firearm nor intended to harm anyone, USA Today has reported.

The indictment follows President Trump’s designation of Antifa as a major terrorist organization amid a broader crackdown on left-leaning groups.
