Jeremiah’s Prophecy to Judah's Remnant and Their Disobedience.
Jeremiah chooses to stay in Judah with the poor remnant after Jerusalem's destruction, refusing to go to Babylon despite permission. Nebuchadnezzar appoints Gedaliah as governor, but Ishmael murders him, causing fear among the people. The remnant, led by Johanan, plans to flee to Egypt and consults Jeremiah for guidance. Jeremiah faithfully delivers God's message: if they remain in the land and obey God, He will bless and protect them. However, God warns against fleeing to Egypt, predicting disaster if they disobey. Despite this, the people ignore the warning and go to Egypt.
