I got a few emails about some overgrown homes in a small town outside of Wichita so I went to check them out. This was the first one I came across and it looked really bad. I spoke with the next door neighbor and I guess the lady that used to live here didn’t have electricity or plumbing so she used candles for light and a bucket for the bathroom. Since then the sheriffs auctioned it off and somebody else bought it and has only mowed it one time. The grass is getting super tall and it’s pretty dangerous for people driving because they can’t see past the corner to see if another car is coming. So I went ahead and spend 2 whole days getting it cleaned up for the neighborhood. What I didn’t realize though was there was a brick sidewalk completely hidden underneath about 6 inches of dirt. It’s had to have been buried for multiple decades so I decided to uncover it and it was the most labor intensive work I’ve ever done.
