Alliance, OH - Police released body camera video on Saturday morning showing officers confront and fatally shoot a man who had shot a woman Thursday at the Alliance Towers apartment complex.

The video, which is 55 seconds and a side-by-side synced view of both officers involved in the shooting, starts with four officers riding in an elevator and then getting off on the fifth floor, where a man warns police, "He's got a gun. He shot her."

The officers start going down a long hallway to confront the shooter.

"He's got a gun. Put it down," one of the officers yells. "On the ground! Now!"

A gunshot can be heard, apparently fired by the gunman. Police say they believe the suspect fired a shot with a handgun, apparently at the female victim on the floor on the left side of the hallway, police said.

A woman could be heard yelling out, apparently in pain.

"Drop the weapon!" a police officer yelled.

A second gunshot was heard, apparently fired by the gunman. Police said they don't know if the gunman fired at the woman again or at the police officers, who were not injured.

The gunman could be seen emerging for a split second, apparently from the entrance to the woman's apartment on the right side

Both officers with rifles opened fire on the gunman, shooting multiple rounds, as the gunman's body fell onto the floor. The shell casings could be seen being expelled from the rifles.

The shootings — from the gunman's first shot to the officers' — lasted eight seconds.

Smoke from the gunfire set off the fire alarm.

Police said they muted some of the audio in the video that included cursing.

Police had responded to a 7:41 a.m. emergency call from the Alliance Towers apartment building at 350 S. Arch Ave., which is across the street from Rodman Public Library. Police have said two of the officers shot and killed the gunman, identified by the Stark County Coroner's office as 63-year-old Mason French.

The Stark County Coroner's office identified the woman killed as 56-year-old Stacy Pride, who lived on the fifth floor of the building, off the north end of the fifth-floor hallway.
