Here’s how it started….. Tim Walz signs the "Driver's Licenses for All" bill into law giving illegal migrants state issued photo ID's

How its going, Minnesota election officials confirm illegal migrants are voting in state elections…. using those driver's licenses

Walz signed the "Driver's Licenses for All" bill into law in 2023 giving illegal migrants free state-issued photo IDs and driver's licenses without proof of legal status.

Walz and fellow democrats *represented* it as a safety measure, however critics warned it would lead to illegal migrants voting.

Democrats said that was impossible and would never happen.

Lawmakers and state officials repeatedly told the public that the new IDs wouldn't give illegals the ability to vote, saying …. *there* were built-in protections to make sure it didn't happen, like:

Automatic voter registration systems that excluded illegal migrants by requiring people to attest to their citizenship status during license applications. AKA the honor system.

Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) would keep immigration status data off election rolls, making sure illegals wouldn't appear on voter lists.

Strict verification processes at polling places, where people had to attest to being a citizen, under penalty of perjury – but no proof needed

Fast forward to 2025 and the Minnesota Director of Elections admitted under questioning that illegal migrants can vote if they have a driver's license

REP. ANDERSON:
“Someone could get their driver’s license, again, because we give them to anybody here. They register to vote, it doesn’t match with the Social Security number, so they’re flagged."
"But tas long as they have an ID, which is that driver’s license, and they sign that they are eligible to vote, they can vote, and they’re then no longer flagged.”
Paul Linnell:

"The driver's license has not been used as proof of citizenship for the purposes of registering to vote. It's affirming that they are who they say they are."
"So in any of these cases where someone cast a ballot if they were ineligible to vote, there are also reports that are generated post-election."
Rep. Anderson: Okay, so the answer is yes to my question.

Minnesota's illegal migrant population has exploded in recent years, straining resources and fueling debates over integration.

More than 500,000 illegal migrants / undocumented immigrants lived in Minnesota as of 2023

Minnesota is also home to some of the largest fraud schemes in the history of the U.S. like….

Feeding Our Future Scandal (2020–2022): A $250 million COVID-era fraud ring that stole money meant for hungry kids. Multiple Somali-linked defendants pleaded guilty to wire fraud, and laundering money through fake meal sites that didn’t serve any children.

Autism Therapy Fraud (Ongoing since 2023) a $14 million scam targeting Minnesota's Medicaid-funded autism programs.

Housing and Property Fraud (2024–2025): the Attorney General's office is pursuing $4.5 million in restitution from Nolosha Properties in a predatory scheme

Immigration Fraud Sweeps (September 2025): An ICE operation in Minneapolis-St. Paul uncovered that nearly 50% of Somali migrants engaged in immigration fraud.
