2.Tell the Player what to do, but not how to do it

Player freedom and choice is essential to creating meaningful play. While there might be an optimally designed way to complete a certain objective or kill a boss, there should be multiple ways to achieve said objective based on the player’s preferred playstyle. Even less complex games should offer choice in how the player chooses to engage with the levels and bosses they encounter.
