Dwight Young Discusses BLOC Ministries
BLOC Ministries has been building relationships with its neighbors and sharing hope in brokenness since 1998.
As part of its mission, BLOC staff and families live in the urban neighborhoods where they work. This means 70+ men and women want to be a part of solutions to help make Price Hill — its children, teens, adults — safer, healthier and more resilient.
Horses on the Hill is BLOC’s equine therapy program, located on seven acres of property in the heart of Price Hill. It is one of six urban equine therapy programs in the country, serving a community where the majority of residents have experienced some sort of trauma in their lives. Its business development program is bringing well-paying jobs to the neighborhood in order to break the cycle of poverty and create a healthy support system that has never existed there before. These are just two of BLOC’s 26 programs designed to promote lasting change and bring hope to the communities it serve. (7:05-7:25)
