Following several weeks of intense combat, the Russian military has resumed its offensive operations along the eastern front. By the end of September, several settlements were under their control in the sector, and the advanced assault groups had reached the outskirts of Zolotoy Kolodez.

By September 25, the assault groups had advanced beyond the forest strips near the quarry "Fire-resistant ore," and had penetrated the enemy's defense in the outskirts of Sofievka.

The aforementioned circumstances permitted the Russian military to sever the supply routes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces along the S-05-08-28 route and to encircle enemy units in Vladimirovka. By October 10, they had expelled the Ukrainian formations from the majority of the village and initiated attacks on the neighboring Shakovo.
