Struggle to be Pure

In this life we make mistakes. This life was designed to test us, to purify us. We refer to this as the refiners fire. In this life we learn good from evil. We are tempted; we are tried. The good news is that God sent his son to redeem us; to save us from our sins. When we have repented, His blood will wash us clean. We call this grace. Christ lived a perfect life and so the laws of justice have no claim on Him and His suffering can be applied to our sins, if we repent. Once we repent and are washed clean by His blood, we will be clean indeed for we have repented and been washed. God wants us to follow His Son, to become like him. For this reason we find the following scriptures in the Bible.

Matthew 4:48 KJV “Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect.”

1 John 2: 1-3 KJV When he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
