Why does the scripture tell us that the love of money is the root of all evil?

None of us is self-sufficient. We live in a world where the very ground from which we are taken is cursed. We must not only toil to provide our daily bread but also make exchanges with others to provide what we not only need to survive physically but also need to meet the desires of our flesh and eyes. It is in these exchanges that our vulnerability is exposed, a vulnerability that others might take advantage of, as Lucifer certainly does in establishing his systems of exchange.
