The Anvil of Adversity
We are encouraged to become like the Son of God; to obtain his attributes and his perfections. We want to receive all that he has for us and yet we want all of this without any discomfort, any suffering, any sacrifice. He suffered all things that he might bring all the sons of God to him; that he might redeem them and understand their trials and pains; that he might understand the pains of their wilderness; their empty waste lands. He descended below all things and to be like him we have to descend below many mortal things. This will try us and prepare us to succor our brothers and sister. It will prepare us for Eternal life; for God’s life. Without these trials we could not be like him. So yes there is a God and He knows how to refine us, to make us worthy of his blessings.

In the midst of all of this darkness and despair God’s answer is always the same.
“Be still and know that I am God.”

Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation.Hebrews 5:8

And every man that hath this hope purifieth himself even as Christ is pure.First John 3:3"
