California Democrat Katie Porter's 2026 gubernatorial campaign collapsed in October 2025 after two viral videos exposed her nasty temperament. Leading the polls before the meltdown, Porter threatened to walk out of a CBS interview when asked how she'd win over the 40% of California voters who supported Trump, demanding the reporter be more "pleasant" and "positive" instead of answering. A second video from four years ago surfaced showing Porter screaming "Get out of my shot! You also were in my shot before that. Stay out of my shot!" at a staff member during a filming. Her betting market odds crashed from 40% to 18% in a single day, while fellow Democrats called her a "weak, self-destructive candidate unfit to lead California" and demanded she drop out of the race to replace Gavin Newsom. Porter, known for her "progressive" politics and harsh questioning style in Congress, couldn't handle basic follow-up questions from friendly media without having a complete meltdown. This is the same woman who wants to run the largest state economy in America.
