10/15/2025 U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said: “'The US and China originally reached an agreement in Geneva, Switzerland, to suspend tariffs and rare earth measures for 90 days. Negotiations had been progressing quite smoothly over the past six months. However, the Chinese Communist Party has now expanded its rare earth restrictions. We have been compliant, but the CCP has escalated.”
