Day 288 – Sent Out with Power: The Cost of Following Jesus — Matthew 10–12 | Bible In A Year (CSB)

Jesus sends out the twelve disciples, giving them authority to heal, teach, and proclaim the Kingdom. But He also warns them that following Him will bring persecution and division. As the chapters unfold, opposition to Jesus grows—even from religious leaders—and yet, He continues to reveal His compassion and divine mission.

Questions:
1. Jesus tells His disciples to be “wise as serpents and innocent as doves.” How can believers today balance wisdom and innocence while living out their faith in a skeptical world?

2. In chapter 11, Jesus contrasts the heavy burdens of religion with His easy yoke. What does true rest in Christ look like for you personally?

3. When the Pharisees accuse Jesus of working by the power of Satan, He warns against blaspheming the Holy Spirit. What do you think this warning reveals about the hardness of heart that rejects God’s work?
