John J. Mearsheimer is the R. Wendell Harrison Distinguished Service Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago and a leading realist scholar of international relations. A graduate of West Point High School and a former officer in the US Air Force, he is the author of numerous influential works on US foreign policy and power politics.
