Cheryl and Ken discuss “Mesker Park Amphitheater” in Evansville. It’s part of the Evansville Zoo which fell into disrepair and not used since 2012. It was a place of fond memories, concerts and a revenue source for the city government.

As many other taxpayer owned properties, the city administrations, both Republican and Democrat, neglect public owned property.

Instead the focus was constructing new parks and ignoring routine maintenance of other public facilities.

The “parks board” of unelected officials determined to solicit a “request for proposal” on leasing Mesker Park Amphitheater. Only one bid was received from a Terre Haute businessman; the problem…….the unelected officials serving on the parks board refuse to permit taxpayers and the media to review the proposal. So much for transparency and accountability.
