Hasan Has Been Doing This For Years

On Hasan’s October 7 Twitch stream, his dog Kaya let out a sharp yelp right as he reached off-camera. To many viewers, it looked like Hasan pressed a remote for a shock collar. This wasn’t the only time — multiple older clips show similar reactions, and streamers like Tectone have compiled them into what they call a clear pattern of abuse. Critics say the footage is consistent with shock collar use, while Hasan insists otherwise.

Hasan denied shocking Kaya and sarcastically called himself “the most abusive owner” to “the most spoiled dog on the planet.” He claimed the collar only has vibration, flashlight, and AirTag tracking features — no shocks — and argued Kaya probably clipped her paw on the bed. But critics aren’t convinced. Viewers pointed out he seemed to move a remote out of sight, and some allege he even taped over the back of the collar to cover the shock prongs.

The backlash spread fast. xQc offered $50,000 to a Los Angeles animal shelter if Hasan would prove the collar was shock-free. Ethan Klein, Wade Plemons, and others piled on, with Wade saying Hasan flat-out lied on stream. Pokimane and LilyPichu even pulled a planned podcast episode featuring Hasan, saying it didn’t feel right to release it during the controversy.

Meanwhile, PETA stepped in, reminding everyone that shock collars are cruel and harmful, though they didn’t confirm direct abuse. Across TikTok, Reddit, and X (Twitter), hashtags like #Collargate went viral, with memes, debates, and slowed-down clips being shared nonstop. Some defenders say there’s no hard proof, but critics argue the pattern of Kaya’s yelps and Hasan’s behavior makes the case strong.
