Dozens rescued in Alaska from typhoon remnants

Over 30 people were rescued in Alaska after Typhoon Halong’s remnants caused flooding and high winds, leaving at least three still missing.

The storm damaged at least eight homes in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, with rescue operations conducted by the Alaska Air and Army National Guard, U.S. Coast Guard, and state troopers.

Meanwhile, a powerful Nor’easter swept the U.S. East Coast, bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and coastal flooding from the Carolinas to New England.

New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts faced flooding alerts, damaging winds, and airport disruptions, with hundreds of flights delayed or canceled, NBC News has reported.

Authorities warned residents to avoid floodwaters as up to 8 inches of rain and high winds threatened infrastructure, beaches, and vulnerable coastal areas.
