Recent examples include a 10% stake in Intel, a 10% stake in MP Materials, a 10% stake in Trilogy Metals, and a "golden share" in U.S. Steel. These actions are part of an effort to bolster domestic supply chains and national security interests.

Examples Of Government Stock Purchases And Stakes

Intel: The government acquired a 10% stake in Intel, converting federal grants into equity.

MP Materials: The Department of Defense invested $400 million in the rare earth mining company, with the stock price rising significantly afterward.

Trilogy Metals: The government announced a 10% stake in this Alaska-based company to secure access to critical minerals.
