Green Sea Turtles

Here is a video I made of two juvenile green sea turtles I saw feeding during a high tide.

Green Sea turtles are named for the green color of their body fat, which comes from their herbivorous diet.

These majestic creatures can grow up to 5 feet in length and weigh up to 700 pounds. That's like having a small car with flippers. They're also known for their long lives, with some turtles living up to 80 years in the wild.

Green sea turtles are also excellent travelers. They can migrate thousands of miles between their feeding grounds and nesting beaches.

But here's the sad part: Green sea turtles are considered an endangered species due to habitat loss, pollution, and hunting.

So let's all do our part to protect these gentle giants of the sea. After all, who else is going to eat all those seagrasses and keep the ocean's ecosystem in balance?
