Why Trump Wants To Fire Federal Workers

The government may fire thousands of unionized federal workers during the shutdown that began in October. This effort was foreshadowed in Project 2025, which some consider a blueprint for conservative governance. Several authors from the document are now senior-level members of the Trump administration. CNBC spoke with one who believes the federal workforce needs to change. Their efforts could reshape the federal bureaucracy, but do little to alter the country’s financial outlook.
