Welcome back to Pixel Command - your gateway to the grim darkness of gaming lore!
Today we're exploring Vault 13, the so-called "control group" that accidentally became the most important vault in Fallout history. What started as a simple study of prolonged isolation became the origin story of the entire Fallout saga.
🔹 Purpose: Control group - 200 years of isolation
🔹 Population: 1,000 vault dwellers

🔹 The Crisis: Water purification chip failure in 2161
🔹 The Hero: The legendary Vault Dweller
🔹 The Betrayal: Banished by the Overseer for saving everyone
When Vault 13's water chip failed, they had only 150 days to live. The Vault Dweller ventured into the wasteland, became a legend, and saved the vault - only to be exiled by an Overseer who cared more about his experiment than human decency.
This is the vault that launched the entire Fallout franchise, home to the original game's protagonist and the foundation of Arroyo. Vault 13 proves that even Vault-Tec's "control groups" couldn't escape their toxic corporate culture.
What's your take on the Overseer's betrayal? Was he protecting the experiment or just being cruel? Let me know in the comments!
