Two Enochs; who knew? Part 1

Did you notice that two Enochs and two Methuselahs are mentioned in The Book of Genesis? There was even a City named Enoch.

The genealogies in the Bible reveal a profound contrast between the lines of Cain and Seth, particularly with the name Enoch appearing in both. In Genesis GoD divides Love from Infidelity; Obedience and Sin, Light from the Dark.

Cain’s Enoch is associated with a legacy of violence and rebellion, while Seth’s Enoch exemplifies faithfulness, ultimately taken up to Heaven. This duality may contribute to confusion regarding the Book of Enoch, which is often questioned and excluded from the biblical canon. The overlapping names can blur the lines between righteousness and wickedness, leading to misunderstandings about its origins and purpose. As families pass down names for respect, the presence of two similar figures in these distinct lineages reminds us of the broader themes of sin and Redemption, illuminating why the Book of Enoch remains a topic of debate among scholars and theologians today.
