Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon instant yeast
1 cup warm milk
1 egg
Pinch of salt
Butter (for greasing the pan)
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix the flour and sugar.
In a separate bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Let it sit for a few minutes until it becomes frothy.
Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture and stir until well combined.
Beat the egg and add it to the batter, along with a pinch of salt. Mix until smooth.
Cover the batter with a clean cloth and let it rest in a warm place for about 30 minutes to allow it to rise.
Preheat your poffertjes pan over medium heat and grease each indent with a small amount of butter.
Pour the batter into each indent, filling them about three-quarters full.
Cook until the edges start to set, and small bubbles form on the surface.
Flip the poffertjes using a skewer or fork, and cook the other side until golden brown.
Remove from the pan and serve warm with powdered sugar and butter.
