Nancy Drew Reporter, 1939

Nancy, the daughter of local attorney Carson Drew, snoops a real article assignment while she is competing in a local newspaper contest where schoolchildren are invited to submit a news story. She "covers" the inquest into the poisoning death of a woman. Nancy, who doesn't believe the young woman who is accused of the crime is guilty, convinces her neighbor Ted to look for a crucial piece of evidence, and together they discover who the real murderer is.
