These first two Psalms have no noted author among men. God wanted these directly from Himself.
Psalm 1 & 2 are the gate posts to enter in and understand and also set the foundations of the entire book of Psalms.
Psalm 1 The Foundation: #1Before any choice of man. God has given us His word. You must decide to reject it or to receive it.
Psalm 2 The Foundation: #1 Before any choice of man. God has installed His King. Jesus Christ, the word made flesh. All people must decide to reject Him or to receive Him.
To reject God’s word is to reject His rule.
In these 2 gateway Psalms, God reveals His sovereignty. God reveals He will rule over the individual through His word, and God will rule over the nations through His King. The Word made flesh.
