"Free" is about wanting to escape a relationship in crisis. Songwriter, Todd Harrell, told us the track was inspired by a real life experience: "That's a song that's talking about wanting to be free, wanting to get away from the craziness of a relationship that's going nowhere."
"Free" features on the self-titled debut album from 7dayBinge. Harrell told us most of the songs on the album are inspired by real life incidents: "All of them have some kind of truth to them. It's things I've seen or things I've done. It's definitely from life experiences, all these songs."
"I'm No Good" was inspired by a "nasty" divorce that 7dayBinge bassist, Todd Harrell, went through. It is about warning your partner that "you're no good." Harrell elaborated during our interview: "That came from a life experience, I guess you could say, from when I went through a pretty nasty divorce a while back, and I was getting told by my ex-wife that 'you're no good.' So we wrote a song about that. And if you listen to the lyrics, you can probably tell where it goes from there. (Laughing) That's definitely a life experience from a nasty divorce years back. I just wrote it down on paper and that's where it came from."
The song features on the self-titled debut album from 7dayBinge - a supergroup comprising of Todd Harrell (3 Doors Down) on bass, Jon Nicholson (Muzik Mafia) on guitar and vocals, Kenny Olson (Kid Rock's band) on lead guitar, and Shannon Boone on drums. Harrell told us the record allowed him to explore darker areas in comparison to his other band, 3 Doors Down: "We keep it orientated for kids to listen to in 3 Doors, and 7day is definitely a darker and more party-based band, I guess you could say."
Shannon Boone said of Good Times,
"This was the last song we recorded for the album actually after the whole record was done we wrote it and had to put it on there and figured why the hell not have a monster jam at the end. Jon used to mess around with it on the wurly at Todd's and we always wanted to do something with it and finally did. The jam at the end was made up on the spot and it makes a pretty kick ass end to the record!"
