Arshia Akhtar is rewriting the history of Pakistani motorsport. She is the first Pakistani woman to earn a professional FIA license, a milestone that places her among the elite few women competing internationally in formula racing.

From karting tracks in Riyadh as a child to the high speed circuits of the US, her journey has been defined by courage, grit & sheer determination.

Born in Lahore & raised in Saudi Arabia, Arshia Akhtar moved to the US in 2017, where she balances a full time career in clinical research with a demanding racing schedule.

She has competed in the Formula Race Promotions Series, the F4 US Championship & now Formula E, racing on tracks she often visits for the first time against seasoned international drivers.

Securing an FIA license was no easy feat. Arshia Akhtar spent months mastering racing regulations, car specifications & building a resume that met international standards.

She currently holds a Grade C license, aiming for Grade B, which will bring her one step closer to the elite super license. Her coach, Nathan Byrd, praises her as a fast learner with a great attitude, immediately executing feedback on track.

Off the track, she is an adrenaline junkie & high achiever. From equestrian competitions & snowboarding to skydiving & scuba diving, she lives life on full throttle.

She also stays academically sharp, publishing in scientific journals & excelling in clinical research. Despite the high costs of racing, Arshia Akhtar self funds her career, embodying resilience, discipline & passion.

In a sport where women make up only around 10% of participants globally, Arshia Akhtar’s success is not just a personal triumph, it is a national milestone & an inspiration for Pakistani women to explore motorsport in every capacity driving, engineering, management & technical roles.
