Mississippi state Sen. Derrick Simmons confirmed the shooting happened after the homecoming event and not on school grounds.
Four victims were airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in critical condition.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is leading the case, and no suspects have been identified.
